banishers--ghosts-of-new-eden-urj7a

We come to the case of one of the most difficult games that I was presented to review. Its complexity at the level of playability and story provided interesting elements, which gives a good result as a game but that could have been much better.

Development:
The story tells us or rather focuses us on two characters Antea Duarte and Red, two hunters of specters and ghosts, after two hours of play since the game takes quite a while to start: Antea Duarte suffers her death in a tremendous nightmare, it is here where the game makes a break, on the one hand, we will play as Red, her beloved, who is still in the world of the living, and on the other as Antea who has not yet left for the world of the dead and is still united to Red in the world of the living. From this moment on, what is seen as a common adventure game, transforms or mutates into a kind of combat and investigation game; Just as you hear it, the game becomes a mix of Batman Arkham City with Murdered Soul Suspect, a game that passed without pain or glory through the PS4 generation just as the generation began. Anyway, the point is that Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden completely changes its functionality due to many factors that from afar we see will impact the ending, from now on Antea tells us that to revive he needs human souls, as hunters we will go from town to town solving various cases, murders, kidnappings, in short, there will be everything, each conflict will have a culprit, dead or alive, since it may be that on many occasions the ghosts seek revenge on a human being who still belongs to the world of the living or vice versa; anyway, once the cases are solved we must give a judgment and it consists of punishing the ghost or human, or giving ascension to a ghost; In the first two cases, if we kill or punish a human or ghost, that energy will be received by Antea and we will help or contribute to her resurrection. On the other hand, if we ascend an innocent ghost or forgive a human, Antea will move away from resurrection until she completely fades away.
The decision in each case will obviously affect the ending, that is obvious, however, this is where many facets of the player come into play. Will we be fair with each judgment or will the selfishness to revive Antea be greater? Again, the decision rests only with you.

A somewhat unbalanced balance. On the one hand, as I said, the game offers a good challenge and the premise makes us want to keep playing it, however, it is mainly in combat where there are certain flaws that make it somewhat bland, for example, as I said, combat is very simple, it will be swinging swords left and right and attacking with the torch, although our friend Antea will help Red, fighting by our side when the ghosts possess a body, the combat did not convince me. However, in the other corner, we have a good balance with the bosses that are spectacular, that is why I repeat the game is a back and forth from here to there in every sense all the time.

Half open world.
Another issue that did not quite fit is the open world or the map that despite feeling like we are living an action role-playing game in an open world; this is also halfway: the game cannot be classified as role-playing since even when the RPG elements are in their clothes, weapons which we can improve; All of this stumbles on the same stone and falls short, since in addition to being able to collect materials to perform the upgrades, nothing seems to satisfy the idea that the game offered much more; just by saying that in addition to collecting plants and objects we can not only improve weapons and armor, but we can also perform rituals which we must carefully choose satisfactorily to solve cases, you will realize that Banishers Ghost of New Eden is a Tetris game where the pieces unfortunately did not fit very well.

Graphics and optimization:
The game on PC worked very well for me at 2K and with balanced rescaling on a mid-range GPU of 11 GB, not bad, the graphics are beautiful, however, in structures they do not stand out too much.

In conclusion:
Banishers Ghost of New Eden is a set of very good quality pieces that do not fit very well.

Note: 7.5. Good.
