Another code: Recollection. Review.

The game that was born on Nintendo DS, and that was known as Trace Memory in America and Another Code Two Memories in the East, arrives today with an explosive remake, which with more successes than ups and downs brought us a worthy and very good remake.
Development:
In Another Code: Recollection, we reincarnate as Ashley Mizu Robinski, a fourteen-year-old girl who was raised by her aunt, Jessica, after her father Richard decided to leave her under her guardianship when she was barely three. years; One day before Ashley turns fourteen, she receives and is surprised with a letter from her father Richard, whom she believed to be dead according to what her aunt Jessica sadly had to tell her about her.
Ashley in the letter was summoned by her father to a distant island, the island of “Edward Blood Island” along with the letter Ashley receives a strange device called “DAS” invented by her father, a neurologist scientist, her deceased mother, also a neurologist, was originally from Japan. This “DAS” device allows us to take photographs and as her aunt Jessica explains, it can only be used by Ashley herself.
The trip to “Edward Blood Island” is not short and can only be reached by boat. Upon arrival, no one waits for both women. This is when we realize that in this story everyone knows something, either about the plot or the main character. One thing is clear, they don’t want to share it with us.
Anyway, on the island Aunt Jessica beats us to the punch due to a classic tantrum of a poorly raised teenager, Ashley investigates a little about the captain, a charismatic character who, as I said, “knows more than he says”, based on his recommendation we decided We enter the island in search of Jessica, when the captain leaves without telling us.

It stands out that this is when the game shows that it is not horror, but it always leaves a mysterious mystery of an open thriller. This is when we will begin to solve puzzles, and it was also here where I found the first differences with the original Another Code: Two Memories, the way of solving the puzzles has changed and they are very original and creative, for example in the first puzzle, We will have to get a key, it is locked in a grate under a wooden bench and it will be our duty to guide it by moving with both joy cons (Nintendo never loses creativity).
As we enter the island we will meet D (a ghost) who has been dead on the island for more than fifty years. This is when the story begins to take changes that I do not intend to reveal.
Gameplay: The new and the old.
Another Code: Two Memories for the Nintendo DS console is more of a “Point and Click” game, that is, touch and advance, back then with the touch screen of the Nintendo DS; The view was from above and we saw video scenes on one screen and on the other, on many occasions, the responses when we had dialogues.
This new version totally changed things, transforming, of course, the genre of the game from a “Point and Click” to a graphic adventure game, the way we solve the puzzles, the way we go around the scene to look for objects, the view The character and most importantly the graphics all had a huge facelift.
On the one hand, it is good, since the video game was practically remade, on the other, no less important, the nostalgia and perhaps the essence of the Nintendo DS classic is lost
The not so good:
The title looks great with very good watercolor graphics, however in terms of optimization, we are left halfway, since we will suffer somewhat tedious loads between one place and another, and that they are places practically next to each other, it shows that the Nintendo Switch that gave us so much joy and continues to give us is tired and exhausted by such games that demand too much of it.
On the music side, I found it somewhat simple throughout the game, and on many occasions the voice actors in the English version were somewhat dull, remember that both Trace Memory and Another code Two memories did not even have dubbing since it was read.
Conclusion:
Another Code: Recollection is an excellent remake, if you enjoyed the original title as many did, this game is for you, if you like thrillers or graphic adventures too.
